Car Parts Cheap

A dream car for anybody would be a beautiful car with finest design, strong to protect passenger and cheaper to run. We would love if the car consumes less fuel with high mileage, cheaper spare parts and almost no technical problems.
Well, some characteristics of our dream car could be fulfilled with implementation of natural fiber or bio composite. While to avoid technical problems, it’s depend on the design of the car and the way we maintain our car.
In the previous article we have discussed briefly on how a could be achieved with bio composite materials. This article is the continuation from the previous article with deeper explanation on strength, lightweight and cost.
Glass fiber is a well-known material for its superior strength. To compare between steel and glass fiber, for example the ultimate tensile strength of a structural steel (ASTM A36 steel) is 400 MPa.
Another factor why bio composite materials are very attractive to car industries is because of their cost. The costs for bio composite materials are roughly four to five times cheaper than fiber glass.
The data that we have from few research centers is that the material cost of glass fibers are roughly US$0.90 per lbs. On the otherhand the material cost for natural fibers or bio composite materials are roughly US$0.25.
